The intention of this document is to give a general overview to Compass DCS in both hardware and software level. Its aim is to support administrator(s) of DCS to understand the features of current system and to give some instructions of how to update the databases according to changes in hardware of experiment. To be able to understand the content of the document a knowledge of PVSS systems and JCOP-Framework is needed. This document supports the Compass DCS Panels And Scripts -document and therefore they should be read as parallel.
